It's no secret that film and television production companies race right past Arizona to clap their movie clappers in states that offer generous incentives to do business. Georgia is a hotbed. New Mexico got all those Breaking Bad production dollars, and the ancillary, Walter White-inspired film tourism business that came with it. Arizona don't do that thing, however. They have their reasons. Doesn't matter. Wave hello when all those cast and production trailers and filthy-rich Angelinos go rolling past Tucson en route to Albuquerque.
In the meantime, Estudio Mexico Films has come to our rescue! Courtesy of a shout-out from the Tucson Film Office, here's the trailer for the series Run, Coyote, Run, about two guys who run a "touristic adventure" travel agency between us and our neighbor to the south. I don't speak much--hablo un poco--Spanish, but it looks hilarious, and it was filmed both in Tucson and Naco, Sonora.
Gov. Ducey take note: that was 35 crew positions that stayed right here. Folks call that job creation where I come from. Oh yeah, I come from Arizona.
This is Season 1 for Run, Coyote, Run and I wish them luck.
